City of Rosemead Statement on Community Safety and Immigration

The City of Rosemead (City) is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of our community, regardless of immigration status. Our City is proudly built on the contributions of immigrants, who play a vital role in maintaining Rosemead as a city of beauty, compassion, and diversity. The City and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) do not participate in or support immigration enforcement activities. The Federal government does not consult with or inform the City regarding its enforcement actions, which occur independently and without our knowledge or approval. While the City remains obligated to comply with applicable state and federal laws, we are dedicated to acting with transparency, integrity, and respect for the rights of all individuals. The City is actively monitoring the situation and remains in communication with public safety partners to stay informed of any developments that may impact our community. During times of uncertainty, we urge all members of our community to remain calm and peaceful. The City encourages open dialogue, mutual respect, and unity as we continue to support one another and uphold the values that make Rosemead a strong and inclusive community. If you observe any suspicious activity or situations that may impact public safety, please get in touch with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department – Temple Station at (626) 285-7171.
