City Departments

The City of Rosemead is organized into seven operating departments that provide a full range of high-quality municipal services to maintain and improve the quality of life in Rosemead. Below is a summary of the types of services provided.

City Manager

  • The City Manager’s Office oversees the daily operations of the City including administration of business licenses, housing support and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs, Code Enforcement and Human Resource functions.

City Clerk

  • The City Clerk’s Office supports transparency and administers processes such as City Council Meeting agendas, Boards and Commissions, elections, Public Records Act requests, passport services, and among others.

Community Development

  • The Community Development Department is comprised of Planning, Economic Development, Building & Safety, and Film Permits. The Department oversees the day-to-day administration of the City’s land use regulations and building permit approval process.


  • The Finance Department is responsible for managing the City's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and managing the City’s investment portfolio.

Parks & Recreation

  • The City’s exceptional Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreation, classes, programs, and events throughout the year. Enjoy aquatics at the Splash Zone or Rosemead Aquatics Center or visit the City’s seven parks for your other recreational needs.

Public Safety

  • The Public Safety Department provides an array of safety related services in including numerous crime prevention, emergency preparedness, and public awareness programs. You can also receive or renew your pet license at the Rosemead Public Safety Center. Police services are provided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Public Works

  • The Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of public facilities and infrastructure including City roads and pedestrian rights-of-way in the City.
