A Statement from Rosemead City Council on the Loss of

Two El Monte Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty

On behalf of the City of Rosemead, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the City of El Monte, the El Monte Police Department, and the families of Corporal Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana who were killed in the line of duty on Tuesday, June 14th.  Our hearts go out to their families and everyone in the community impacted by this tragic event.

Rosemead honors and respects the dedication and sacrifices that our law enforcement officers make every day for the safety of the community.  With the support of our dedicated local law enforcement agencies, we commit ourselves to protect our city's strength and unity.  The service and commitment they provide to the communities we call home are not taken for granted.  They are in our thoughts, and we would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude for their service.

With the deepest respect,

Polly Low,

Mayor, City of Rosemead
