Senior Excursions

The City of Rosemead offers great excursions to seniors all year round. 

Excursions are offered to resident and non-resident seniors age 60 and older. Seating is based on a first register -first seated basis. Registration for senior trips are available online or inspersion.  Refund Policy  - Refunds for each excursion will only be given when recreation services re-sells your reservation to another party. An administration fee of $5 will be charged for all requested refunds. All senior excursions depart from the Garvey Center, located at 9108 Garvey Ave. 91770.

Enjoy your day in Old Town San Diego. This quaint part of San Diego holds a strong history of Spanish culture. Take some time to explore El Presidio Real de San Diego, the first permanent European settlement on the Pacific Coast of the present-day United States. Stroll down palm tree-lined streets containing a variety of shops, restaurants, and galleries. Keep going and you'll come to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Enjoy this mix of history, modern shopping, and entertainment. Restored and reconstructed buildings house museums, shops, and restaurants, while staff in period costumes recreate San Diego’s past from 1820 to 1870.

Take a self-guided tour through the museum's eighteen galleries. Visitors can interact with hundreds of never-before-seen artifacts and engage in multiple interactive displays for a fully immersive experience on the life and times of America's 40th president. Visitors also have the opportunity to walk through Air Force One, the “Flying White House” for President Reagan and six other U.S. presidents from 1973-2001. Lunch will be on your own at the Reagan Café located on site. There will be time to browse the gardens and gift shop before departure.
