Through this innovative and interactive program, students in Rosemead get a first-hand look at how government works! The program is designed to get students involved in government on a local level. Selected students will participate in a shadow day, shadowing City Officials and staff, and on the second day, a City tour and mock City Council meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Subjects addressed each day may include matters such as community engagement, decisions on infrastructure, and budget. Youth in Government Day builds political acumen and self-confidence through public speaking and interaction.
