Southern California Edison offers electrical power to the community, in addition to providing information on energy efficiency, rotating outages, emergency preparedness, electrical safety tips, and tree planting guidelines to ensure non-interference with electrical utility lines. SCE’s headquarters are located in the City of Rosemead.
The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program offers income-qualified customers a discount of 20% or more off their monthly electric bill.
If the CARE program is not right for your family, you may qualify for the Family Electric Rate Assistance program (FERA). This plan offers a discounted rate on your monthly SCE bill for families of 3 or more who fall within the income guidelines and exceed their baseline usage by 30% or more.

Southern California Gas Company (The Gas Company) is the provider of natural gas to those residing or operating a business in the City of Rosemead. The Gas Company also provides customers with appliance services (hook-ups and safety checks), an energy efficiency and rebate program, direct-assistance program for limited income customers, and information on emergency preparedness and air quality.
The Gas Company offers two assistance programs. The CARE program provides a 20% discount on the monthly gas bill for eligible households. In addition, for those who qualify, and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge. You will receive your discount once your completed application is approved by The Gas Company.
They also offer a Direct Assistance Program (DAP) The Gas Company offers no-cost energy-saving home improvements and furnace repair or replacement services for qualified limited-income renters and homeowners.
