BEGINNING TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2018, THE CITY OF ROSEMEAD WILL BE ACCEPTING PUBLIC SERVICE AND COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION APPLICATIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2018-19 FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) AND HOME INVESTMENTS PARTNERSHIPS PROGRAM (HOME), RESPECTIVELY.

For the CDBG program, the City is seeking proposals from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations with proven professional experience in public service activities that benefit low- to moderate-income Rosemead residents. Basic eligible public services include child care, job training and education, recreation, crime awareness, general welfare, health or drug abuse prevention.

For the HOME program, the City is seeking proposals from bona-fide Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO’s). The primary objective of a CHDO is the development of housing opportunities for low- to moderate-income Rosemead residents.

Federal funding awards have not yet been announced. The funding available for CDBG public service activities is estimated at $97,000 and for HOME CHDO activities is estimated at $35,000 based on the current year’s budget, but will not be certain until federal notification of awards and City Council budget approval. Funds are available for a one-year grant cycle beginning July 1st.

DEADLINE FOR RETURNING COMPLETED APPLICATIONS IS 5:00 P.M., THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2018. POSTMARKS AND LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. All application must be returned to the City of Rosemead, Community Development Department (Attention: Pat Piatt), 8838 E. Valley Boulevard, Rosemead, 91770.

A representative from your organization must also be present at a public hearing before the City Council that will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. For further information, please contact Pat Piatt at (626) 569-2102.
